Salted Caramel Brownies

Hari Ahad semalam terasa nak baking. 
And I decided to make my kids' favourite Dessert. Brownies. 
But this time saja buat lain dari yang biasa. 

Salted Caramel Brownies.

Ingredients quite simple, cara buat pun simple. Dan cepat.

Resepi Brownies
115g butter
100g cooking chocolate
2 biji telur
175g gula caster (nak kurangkan sikit pun boleh)
Sedikit esen vanilla
55g tepung gandum
25g serbuk koko

Resepi Salted Caramel
                                                      200g gula (1 cup)
                                            90g salted butter (6 tablespoon)
                                            120ml whipping cream (1/2 cup)
                         1/2 sudu teh garam (best to use Garam Buluh / Garam laut)

Method for Brownies:
Melt butter and cooking chocolate together. Leave the mixture to cool slightly.
Put eggs, sugar, vanilla essence in a mixing bowl and beat together until the mixture turn frothy. 
Stir in the chocolate/butter mixture until combined.
Sift flour and cocoa powder and add into the mixture.
Bake in a preheated oven (180-200 C) for 18-20 minutes.

Method for Caramel:
  1. Heat sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly with a rubber spatula.
  2. Sugar will form clumps and eventually melt into a thick brown, amber-colored liquid as you continue to stir. Be careful not to burn.
  3. Once sugar is completely melted, immediately add the butter. Be careful in this step because the caramel will bubble rapidly when the butter is added.
  4. Stir the butter into the caramel until it is completely melted, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Very slowly, drizzle in 1/2 cup of Whipping cream. Since the Whipping cream is colder than the caramel, the mixture will rapidly bubble and/or splatter when added.
  6. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute. It will rise in the pan as it boils.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the salt. Allow to cool down before using.
(Caramel ni dapat banyak, tapi bukan nak guna semua untuk Brownies ni. Boleh simpan dalam peti ais untuk future use. Ataupun, kurangkan measurement jadi separuh je untuk buat caramel tu.)

Brownies yang dah siap dibakar, lepas potong kecil, drizzle Caramel sos tu kat atas Brownies tu. 

Hasilnya memang sangat marveles. Sedap sangat! Sebab dia kombinasi rasa sweet and salty and chewy. Tak sedar dah berpotong potong makan. 
My kids pulak memang suka chocolate. Satu loyang Brownies ni kalau tak control memang boleh clear dalam 1-2 hari je. 

Percubaan letak Caramel atas brownies sebelum dibakar. Next time tak boleh buat camni. Surface dia jadi retak, tak cantik..

Tapi, peringatan mesra.. tak leh selalu sangat buat Caramel Brownies ni, coz it's very rich. Takut kena penyakit pulak.
